Pleased to Meet You…Thomas Housham

28 October 2014

This week we spoke to Thomas Housham, IB Coordinator and Maths Teacher.

  • Thomas Housham, IB Coordinator at the British International School Shanghai, Puxi

How long have you been at BISS Puxi? This is my fourth academic year at BISS Puxi.

What do you enjoy most about working here? I enjoy a lot of things about our school, especially the great teams I work with in the IB academy, the mathematics department and the P.E. department.

What’s been your favourite holiday since living in Shanghai? Going to Malaysia with my wife for the grand prix followed by a week on a beach with only 10 other people there including the hotel staff! We swam with giant turtles and baby sharks.

What do you like most about the city? I enjoy joyful and peaceful Sundays in church

What do you enjoy most about being IB coordinator? I enjoy the energy it takes out of me! I like working with the students to find solutions to problems and being a support to anyone who needs it.

Where are you from and what do you miss from home? I'm a very proud Yorkshireman, from Doncaster. I miss playing cricket at the weekend. I miss how competitive I get and celebrating the win!
