We have been lucky recently to have Mr Ramesh Babu come in and give guest lectures to our IB Business and Management class. Mr Babu is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA - 1989) and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-2001), who gained his qualifications in India and the USA. He has 25 years of professional experience in various industries in India, Indonesia, USA & China in Finance & General Management. Mr Babu is also a parent of a BISS Puxi student.
All Year 13 Business and Management classes attended the lectures which were designed to help students to prepare and revise finance topics before their upcoming mock exams. Mr Babu gave students a mix of lectures and practical sessions on budgeting, a topic on the IB Business and Management syllabus.
Students thoroughly enjoyed the lectures and found them very useful in revising a topic which they covered last year in class. In particular, they felt they benefitted from using real life case studies from industry and from the expertise of Mr Babu himself.
The Business and Economics department is very fortunate to have had this opportunity and welcomes any chance to set up links with industry. If anyone would be interested in being a guest lecturer or works somewhere that would be interesting for a day trip, please do get in touch with us. You can contact the Head of the Business and Economics Department, Aniket Gocoldas at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are now looking forward to our Year 12 trip to a marketing company later on this month.
