Update on Arrangements for 20 and 21 May

19 May 2014

You may have seen reports that there will be some disruption in Shanghai this week due to the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia which is being held in the city. We have just received instruction this afternoon from the Shanghai Education Commission to close the school on Wednesday 21 May.

As a result of late notice from the Shanghai Education Commission, we have been instructed to close the school on Wednesday 21 May.

Even though the school is officially closed on Wednesday, we will remain open for students who are sitting IGCSE and IB examinations. It is likely that we will not be able to provide a bus service due to the road closures so it would be wise to plan alternative transport arrangements for that day.

Please see details below:

Tuesday 20 May - The school will be open

Morning

There will be no changes to the transport arrangements or the start time of the school day.

Afternoon

School will close at 3:00pm and there will be early buses for students.

There will be no ECAs or BISCAP.

Some exams will be started a little earlier than originally planned to ensure they finish before the buses depart. Students will be notified of this change.

Students taking other exams ending after 3:00pm, will need to arrange transport independently.

Wednesday 21 May - The school will be closed

We will remain open for students who are sitting IGCSE and IB examinations. It is likely that we will not be able to provide a bus service due to the road closures so it would be wise to plan alternative transport arrangements for that day.

We offer our sincere apologies for the late change in arrangements and thank you for your understanding of the situation and the late advice.
