Every single performer put 100% into their performances and worked together as a team backstage and onstage. From the very young to the more experienced, there was a huge variety of music heard throughout the evening.
The audience definitely enjoyed our school rock bands from primary and secondary who performed with huge amounts of energy and charisma. For this concert we had seven rock bands performing, all with their own unique style and combination of instruments.
The string ensembles were a complete contrast and demonstrated the students’ technical playing abilities whilst performing some classical music.
There were also three choirs performing a mix of genres, including gospel, pop and songs from musicals. These performers ranged from Year 3 right the way up to IB students and all sang beautifully together.
Several students were also brave enough to sing solos. We also had the pleasure of hearing three jazz ensembles, and the concert finished with our whole school orchestra performing Metallica’s ‘Nothing Else Matters’.
This was certainly an exciting opportunity for the students who have been working extremely hard to produce some polished performances. The whole evening ran very smoothly thanks to everyone’s concentration, collaboration and positivity.
Many thanks to everyone involved – including staff, students and parents. The music department are extremely proud of all their musicians!
