Day 1
After a smooth departure and journey we arrived at our base camp to meet the Indier group leaders. We all headed to a huge area to play ice breaker and getting to know you games then headed off in our separate groups for team building exercises. We learnt a lot about ourselves and the rest of our group members and developed a huge appetite for our locally grown, traditional meals at dinner. We finished off our wonderful first day with an itinerary review and goal setting for the week ahead.
Day 2
Our activities began for real today and we all rose at 7am, anticipating the adventures ahead. Today, our blog post will focus on the groups doing the high ropes course, scavenger hunt orienteering and hiking.
We learnt many new skills including compass reading and also a lot about ourselves like overcoming our fears, bravery, focus, encouragement and resilience - particularly on the extreme hike that we experienced. Some severely steep hills on slippery ground proved very challenging indeed. However, we all made it to our destination unscathed (although we did have a few stumbles on the way).
This evening involves writing our diary entries followed by night games - so who knows what will happen!
Everyone is having the time of their lives and we look forward to whatever comes next.
Tip of the Day - do not get too close to the alpaca - he will probably spit in your face!!!
