Last Day and Last Piece of Advice

29 April 2015

This week we say goodbye to our Year 11 and Year 13 students who go off on study leave before their exams start next week.

  • Last day of school for Year 13

Our Year 13s put in a remarkable effort to be in school early yesterday, all dressed up together in a final show of team unity on their last day of school, when they traditionally play a few jokes on teachers and cause a little mayhem around school! The stress of exams may have got to them however, as they all dressed as criminals for the day! They were all in lessons as normal for the rest of the day as they realise that every minute counts in the rush towards exams.

We wish them all the best as they embark on the final part of what has been two years of hard work. If you are a parent of our IB students or of our Year 11 students, please do have a final check of their exam timetable (daily) as every year there are students who misread the timetable or oversleep. Please encourage your children (as we do) to be in school nice and early for their exams. They will naturally want to look over last minute notes, prepare calculators and ensure they have all the right equipment. Sending the students into the exam rooms in an anxious, rushed state of mind is a bad start.

For more exam tips please see my blog posts from the last two weeks. For the rest of us this long weekend is a chance to have a break, so enjoy it.
