Help us Support Jaiya’s Animal Rescue, Bow Meow and River of Hearts

27 May 2015

Next week from Monday 1 June, we will be reaching the final stages of our support this year for Jaiya’s Animal Rescue, Bow Meow and River of Hearts, and there are plenty of ways for you to get involved.

We have been supporting Jaiya’s Animal Rescue and Bow Meow for the past two years, raising awareness amongst our students and families and last year raising 8,000 RMB through activities like coin collections. Next week we continue our support of these great causes that help so many abandoned animals in Shanghai.

The whole BISS Puxi community will have the opportunity to donate pet toys, treats, food, bedding etc. for these cats and dogs in need from Monday to Thursday, by leaving at primary and secondary receptions. Please make sure that donations are clean and usable. We will also be continuing our coin collection outside primary until Thursday 4 June. The Jinmao (the Red House) are currently in the lead!

On Thursday 4 June children will be hosting a presentation table outside primary after school, to raise awareness of these charities, and what they do to help animals in Shanghai, in the parent community. They will be showing the website as well as current dogs and cats in need of adoption.

We are also holding our last River of Hearts clothes donation all week next week. This will be your final chance to clean out your wardrobes and drawers before the summer holidays. Please leave bags of clothes at either primary or secondary reception.

Many thanks for your ongoing support.

- Dan Shrewsbury, Primary Charity Coordinator
