Year 7

Group 1
Today Group 1 took part in a Chinese cooking class, joined in with Chinese games in the park and cycled through the countryside. Tonight we have some free time on West Street, Chinese painting class and a Kung Fu class!

Group 2
Today's activities have included a treasure hunt, a river cruise and visiting the moon water cave, where things got messy in the mud bath!

Year 8

Group 1
Today, pupils woke up early to see the sun rise over the desert- it was spectacular. After packing up camp, making breakfast and cleaning up, we hiked out of the desert. We then learnt about desertification and did some tree planting in order to do our bit. The pupils worked hard and impressed us all with their positive attitude despite the heat. After lunch we drove to Baotou where we freshened up and some of us had a swim. We finished the day with a Mongolian hot-pot and cake to celebrate William's birthday.

Group 2
Today the weather was perfect and what better way to enjoy it than completing various outdoor activities. This morning we made yurts and learnt to build wind turbines before having our last fantastic Grasslands lunch. We have transferred to Hohhot where we have checked into our hotel and are enjoying a traditional Mongolian hotpot. We don’t want to go home!

Year 9

Group 1
Today Grounp 1 were at the Tianchi Canyon Park, where they took on the challenge of completing the Via Ferrata Experiment Course. After lunch at a local restaurant, they made their way to the Huanghuacheng Campsite and after a hike around the reservoir, set up camp. This evening we had a campfire and campfire stories.

Group 2
After waking up at sunrise for a traditional Hebei breakfast, we hiked all morning and had a late lunch.

This afternoon we travelled to Tianxianyu Village where we will be staying tonight in guesthouses. We played team games in the village and had a local Chinese dinner.

Year 12

Group 1
Group 1 said their final farewells to the children at the school before leaving the camp and have now arrived in Phnom Penh. The last two days have been spent building a house, planting trees for a reforestation project, refurbishing a school and building a dam. All students worked incredibly hard despite the heat.

Group 2
Group 2 have one more day of project work which includes helping build a dam and restoring the local school.
