Division 1 Boys
BISS Lions v SSIS SH 2:0 (25:12, 25:19)
The boys Division 1 team played SSIS in a professional two set performance showcasing their excellent brand of volleyball. The students fought an element of complacency in the middle part of the second set, but brought their performance back up to close the match with a healthy cushion of points. They look forward to one of their big season tests tonight away to SSIS Suzhou.
Division 1 Girls
BISS Lions v SSIS SH 2:0 (25:15, 25:12)
The girls Division 1 team also played a high standard of volleyball to see off the height of the SSIS team. They had an excellent first set with great attacking volleyball from the hitters and stable performance from back court girls. The second set was closed out quickly and the girls look forward to a challenge in Suzhou tonight.
Division 2 Girls Volleyball
BISS Lions v YCIS 2:0 (26:24, 25:22)
On Wednesday, the girls D2 volleyball team played their first fixture of the season against YCIS. We have a young team this year, but with that came lots of energy and focus for what was for most, a debut in SISAC. The girls started well, but found themselves behind in the first set. During a time out, we identified that strategy was stronger, 3 passes required. We kept the momentum and in a nail biting end to the set, Maja Fleck Baustian composed herself and served out for BISS to win 26-24. The second set followed the same suit, but again we believed in our three passes and teamwork to win the second set and the game overall. A great start to the season D2.
BISS Lions v SAS PX 2:0 (25:23, 25:22)
The following Tuesday, the girls D2 Lions were up against a strong SAS Puxi side that brought some big hitters to BISS. The Lions again held their nerve in a tight first set, winning 25:23. The second set was as tight as it gets until both teams had 22 points. The girls served out the set with strength and dug out a lead to win the set 25:22 and the fixture 2:0.
