Year 2 Share Stories around the BISS Puxi ‘’campfires’’

13 January 2016

Tuesday 12 January saw the launch day for ‘Stories People Tell’ in Year 2.

  • Year 2 tell stories
  • Year 2 Tell Stories
  • Year 2 Tell Stories

We have been busy designing book covers that are based on our favourite books to hang in the Year 2 corridor. After break, the whole of Year 2 gathered together in Stage One around imaginary campfires. We all wore our cosy pyjamas and took torches, along with our favourite books, to share with each other in an imaginary forest with twinkling stars.

The children enjoyed curling up on blankets and cushions whilst enjoying and sharing their stories with torches and fairy lights around them, before they listened to one of the teachers chosen stories.

After this, we all went on a bear hunt to Michael Rosen’s story ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ and the children waded through grass, mud, water and even a snowstorm.

Luckily, they all made it back safely to the campfires where they lay as sleeping bears for a short time before returning back to class.

What a wonderful experience to start our new topic this term!
