The ECA and BISCAP programme recommenced on Monday and with the timetable fully operational and sports fixtures and performing arts lessons and rehearsals again underway, we are in full swing.
Almost all of the new students joining us this month have arrived and therefore it is a good time to remind all parents of the importance of communication regarding attendance. Please telephone 021 5226 3211; Primary Reception - Extension 1500, Secondary Reception - Extension 1800 if your son/daughter will be absent from school. This speeds up our checking process and ensures that we can spot as quickly as possible if someone has not made it to school. For this reason, please also do your utmost to keep your contact details on our system up to date so that we can keep you in touch with all that is going on at school.
As returning parents will be aware, we introduced a new security system last term which uses individually allocated smart ID cards to increase the security of the campus. We are already enforcing the swipe for entry and will soon move to swipe to exit. This will greatly assist us in ensuring that only authorised people have access to the campus, and knowing who is on site at any given time in case of a fire or other emergency.
It is also time for me to invite people to come forward if you are keen to contribute to the life of the school. Our school community is full of highly skilled and educated people who have a great deal to offer. If you feel you can contribute something, for example as a qualified teacher or nurse, or you can offer to work in support of the PTA or within our community service programme, or deliver a speech on a specialism or a host a student for work experience, then please let us know and we will do our very best to accommodate you and get you involved. If you are interested and have something you are keen to offer, please contact us here.
Finally this week, I am pleased to announce that we have not only launched our own BISS Puxi Wechat Official Account this term, but we are also trialling the use of Yoopay for the ticket sales for our Chinese New Year Performance which takes place in the Auditorium on Wednesday 3 February. This online platform will allow you to purchase tickets online thus making the ticketing process a great deal easier for everyone involved. You will shortly receive an email with more detailed information about this service. The CNY Performance is very popular so please make sure if you want tickets for the event that you respond quickly to the opportunity to secure some seats.
