Shanghai Dutch School Travel Fair

11 October 2016

On the 29 September, the Travel Fair at the Shanghai Dutch School opened their doors to the public. As always this event was extremely popular among parents who lined up in the rain outside in anticipation.

Like any other self-respecting cities travel hub, visitors and their belongings were thoroughly checked by the Shanghai Dutch School (SDS) customs team from Year 2. Subsequently parents and visitors had to have their passports checked and stamped. Those people without a Belgian or Dutch passport would lucky enough to have one made on site at the travel fair. The next step was to check in at SDS Airlines counter with our Year 1 students. Once checked in, all visitors could enjoy and find out an overwhelming amount of information about many countries in Asia including China, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, and beyond. Students from Year 3 up to Year 11 had researched travel options in these countries and put together  amazing itineraries, covering not just the highlights, but also the hidden treasures. Exhausted from ‘travel shopping’ the potential travelers could enjoy refreshments in our aeroplane, hosted by flight attendants and pilots from Reception. What an amazing event and journey!
