Lit Quiz Challenge

29 November 2016

Friday after school was the inaugural Lit Quiz Challenge, hosted by the ineffable Effie Trinkett and the charismatic Cesar Flickerman, taking time out from their busy schedule at the Hunger Games!

Four hungry teams - Thunderbolts, Kaluhelo, Four Musketeers and Girls on Fire - competed to dig deep, remembering authors, titles, settings, fairytales, myths and legends with startling speed to answer questions on a wide range of works. But who would win through to be crowned literary champions? After a tough match, with Effie and Cesar on hand to temper the adrenaline and call contestants to order, Y8s, 9s and 10s were running neck and neck. At the last minute, in a nail-biting finale, Girls on Fire proved their flame was still burning strong as they pipped the others to the post, with a final score of 14 points, beating the undaunted 4 Musketeers, who came a close second with 13 points. Thanks to all our parent supporters who cheered on the teams and put their own literary knowledge to the test.
