Global Library Launched Ahead of Schedule

16 March 2016

Global Campus was launched way back in the autumn term and its introduction has generated innumerable success and has a created a real buzz amongst many of the Key Stage 2 students. So much so that the Global Library launch was brought forward a whole term – and it’s a decision that has already reaped benefits.

The Global Library is part of the Global Campus, our online learning platform that allows our pupils to access a wealth of information, challenge and interaction between our 42 schools.

The Global Library itself is a selection of over 20 books selected by teachers from our family of schools; Books range from fiction novels, graphic novels, poetry and non-fiction works. The great benefit of the Global Library is that the learning and fun doesn't stop once you've finished reading, it only just begins.

From this point, the children can discuss the texts with children from around the Nord Anglia Education family in various online forums – what was their favourite character? Did they like the ending? Would they recommend it?  They can also complete an online quiz about the book to see how much they can recall.

Its success has been unprecedented and we have a well-stocked Global Library in the Primary library already and we have just completed an order for even more copies. We constantly encourage the children to take part so any words of encouragement from you is greatly appreciated – not to mention that if they read 5 books, they can gain another stamp in their Global Campus passport!

I’m also pleased to announce that we have just submitted our entries for the Global Campus Creative Writing competition. There were over 290 entries from 32 schools. So fingers crossed that the next time I write a blog, it will be to share news of some winning entrants from BISS Puxi!
