The classrooms were full to the brim with hands on activities and the children were ready to take on the role of teachers and get their parents actively involved in the dinosaurs!
As you walked in and out of the Year 3 classrooms, you could see confident children challenging their parents to beat them at their own dinosaur board games, but then kindly helping those struggling by showing them how to find the answers in non-fiction books.
There were some parents and children that took a quiet moment in amongst the hustle and bustle to sketch, or design and create collographs of fossils to make rubbings. Other groups of children led science experiments and showcased how to test whether rocks would float or sink as well as their hardness and porosity.
However, the favourite moment for everyone was the online Kahoot quiz! Teams of parents and children joined together to compete for a top ranking place in the end of year dinosaur quiz. Cheers of celebration and the chatter of collaborating teams could be heard throughout Year 3, whilst inside the classrooms you could see the determination and concentration on each and everyone's faces.
The children loved having their families with them in school, to share with them their exciting school experiences and proudest achievements. A great event thanks to the hard work of the children, Year 3 team and the enthusiasm of all the parents.
