At the end of February, we found out the good news that our pupils won a total of 77 Medals, including 36 Gold Medals.
Pupils who scored over a certain threshold of points were then invited to compete in a follow up round, either the Kangaroo Competition or the Intermediate Maths Olympiad. These rounds were held last month and, although we are awaiting the results from the Kangaroo rounds, I am pleased to announce some of our best ever results in the Olympiad.
Brian Jeong Gyeom Kim in Year 10 and Wooseok Kang in Year 11 were placed within the Top 50 of competing pupils in the world, an incredible achievement and a sign of great things to come for these mathematicians. Also of extremely noteworthy achievement and awarded a Distinction for their efforts were Zieho Choi (Year 11) and Jinheon Choi (Year 10), whom were placed within the Top 100. Finally, a big well done to Har Vey Yuen in Year 9 for the Merit that he received in the competition.
During the summer term, our Key Stage 3 pupils will be given opportunities to compete in some Maths competitions, including the monthly High Four competitions and the UKMT Junior Maths Challenge. We look forward to celebrating more great results in the future.
