16 March 2018

This week in the lovely spring sunshine, the Reception Cubs went to visit the Evergreen farm.

They very excitedly climbed aboard  the buses and went in search of some delicious strawberries. When arriving at the farm the children enjoyed eating their snacks and went for a lovely tour around the farm. They spotted lots of plants and vegetables. All of the Reception teachers were very proud of all of the children and their sensible behaviour. They listened very carefully to all of the grown-ups and followed instructions. They were especially careful when picking the beautiful red strawberries. They made sure that they did not stand on the plants and were careful not to pull the plants out of the ground. The Reception cubs were able to count out 20 strawberries each and were so excited that they got to take them home! When returning to school, the Reception Cubs had lots of wonderful things to say about their trip…

I picked the strawberries by myself. I liked that we saw all of the vegetables. - Angelina

I liked to pick the strawberries and eat them. They taste yummy. - Asia

I liked the strawberry plants. You had to be careful not to stand on them or hurt them. -Cherry
