Nord Anglia Education Model United Nations China Region Conference, the Leman International School Chengdu, 19-20 April, 2019

After arriving safely in Chengdu and checking into the Fairmont Hotel, students were given time to prepare a sketch for the Gala Dinner on Friday evening. Following this, we all headed to the Global Centre, the world’s largest building in terms of floor area, where students had dinner and explored some of the shops before heading back to the hotel to get a good sleep ahead of the first day of the conference.

The first Nord Anglia Education MUN Conference began with an Opening Ceremony with speeches from the MUN Director, the Secretary General and the Deputy Secretary General from the Leman International School. After an excellent performance by the Leman International School Orchestra, students heard an inspirational speech on the UNICEF Global Goal of Quality Education from Professor Dariusz Wanatowski, Professor of Geomechanics at the University of Leeds based at Southwest Jiatong University in Chengdu.
