Week Beginning 4 January 2016

Thank you to all the parents for all your continued support over the first term. The children have worked extremely hard and it has been such a pleasure to see them settling in and enjoying learning and making new friends. We hope you all have a wonderful holiday!

MESSAGES

  • We look forward to welcoming all the existing students back on Wednesday 6 January and all the new children and families on Tuesday 5 January.
  • Please could you take some photos of your child enjoying the Christmas holiday and send them to your child’s class teacher via email before 6th January. These will provide a visual prompt to support our teaching. Thank you.
  • Show and Tell: Your child may have a special Christmas present or holiday souvenir that they would like to show to their friends at school.  They are very welcome to bring it in on Friday to share during our Show and Tell session.

LEARNING THEME

This week we will talk about our Christmas holidays, using a photo or postcard as a prompt. Where did you go? What did you do? Who did you see? What was the weather like? We will encourage the children to actively listen to each other as they share their holiday experiences. We are all looking forward to welcoming a new class of Bobcats to join our Pre Nursery Unit; we will discuss the changing environment with the children: What was it like before? What has changed? What can we do to make our new friends feel welcome?

Key Vocabulary: holiday, photo, what, where, who, how, welcome, bobcats,

Personal Social Emotional Development

As this week is a short week we would like to spend time settling the children back into their routines after the holiday. We will enjoy being back together, catching up with friends and teachers, sharing holiday news and reviewing school expectations.

taalaanbod: boterham, bord, glas, lepel, mes, vork, bord, lekker, proeven, ruiken, honger, dorst, smullen, Smakelijk!

Een fijne vakantie gewenst en tot in 2016!

MANDARIN

We are going to talk about what we did during the holiday. Due to the three weeks off, we are going to settle the children down first and let them enjoy the mandarin time.
