Uniform: Now that it is colder in the mornings please remember that children should not be wearing leggings, boots or hoodies. They should be wearing school jumpers/cardigans/fleeces and NOT non-uniform versions. Information is available on the Primary Parent Handbook on the website.
- Below is a guide to events happening over the course of Maths Week that we would appreciate your support with, which involves raising money to support the Qing Pu Xiulong Migrant School in teaching Maths.
- Monday 22 February, please send in as many 1 yuan coins as you can spare. The children will be using their estimating and measuring skills to create 3D mathematical signs and shapes out of coins.
- Tuesday 23 February, please bring in biscuits and cakes to sell at the Year 3 Bake Sale.
- Wednesday 24 February, please bring in 20 Yuan to buy cakes and biscuits at the Year 4 Bake Sale.
- Friday 26 February – Hat Day
This week the children will be describing characters. They will focus on creating character descriptions and then inventing dialogue for the main characters. The children will recap on using speech marks and alternative words for said.
This week we will be participating in a worldwide Nord Anglia Maths Challenge. The children will be working in their own classes on a problem involving shapes. They will be asked to generate ideas, think about how they can record their findings and then work on a presentation that will be sent to schools around the world.
This week, the children will be using their maths skills to find out more about dinosaurs. They will start by investigating the size of different dinosaur footprints, and finding out how many of their feet can fit inside. They will then be using formulas to work out the height and length of dinosaurs from the size of their footprints.
As part of our PHSE we will continue to consider social and moral dilemmas that people come across in life. This will be linked to our unit on ‘Theseus and the Minotaur’.

Leesmarathon en Filmfestival
De lijsten van de leesmarathon stromen binnen. Wat hebben onze leeskanjers weer een kilometers gemaakt. Vergeet niet de lijsten en envelopjes mee naar school te sturen. Informatie over het filmfestival volgt in een aparte e-mail.

We will be learning how to introduce ourselves including information of name/age/siblings/birthday/year level.

Year 3/4 Spanish – Ms Caldwell
This week we will be continuing to research some famous Spanish/ French artists and learning vocabulary associated with shapes, colours and feeling.
Homework: To research specific works of art and collate information.
Year 3/4 Spanish – Ms Sutton
Next week we will be continuing with our new topic all about the weather.
Homework this week is to consolidate the new vocabulary learnt so far by matching the weather vocabulary to the picture/symbol.
Year 3/4 French – Mrs. Rae
Next week in French, we will be continuing with the alphabet, as well as learning the names of certain household items. We will also be using basic prepositions ‘sur’and ‘dans’ to describe positions.
Homework this week is to complete the sheet on family members.
