Week Beginning 12 June 2017

  • Please can all children wear uniform to school. We are currently transitioning into Reception and full uniform is expected. The Cub t-shirt is our Nursery uniform. Thank you for your continued support with this.
  • If you have any old pots and pans we could use for our music wall, please send them in.
  • Class Lists 2017-2018

We are currently working on class lists for 2017-18 and will share these with you during the week beginning 12 June.

As is our practice, we aim to provide stability for our students by moving them up with their existing classes where possible, while also taking account to ensure that classes are balanced. Following the issue of the class lists, it will be possible to meet with Ms Jess should you have any questions. However, we ask for your trust in us that that all decisions taken are in the best interests of all the children and your understanding that we cannot meet requests of individual parents.

  • Please let your class teacher know if your child will leave early for the Summer holiday.

The Fox and Panther cubs are busy developing their role play areas. The children have loved the hairdressers and even got to wash Miss Kitti’s hair! In the Fox cub class the children decided they would like to make pizzas. They made signs and named their own pizzas for their customers. The children will develop this next week, using dough to create their pizzas in the shops. If you have any clean pizza boxes at home we would appreciate these to add to our role play.

Our silk worms have started to cocoon. This has been extremely exciting for the children! Hungry caterpillar has become popular again, the children are rereading and acting out the story. We will make some beautiful butterflies next week talking about what a butterfly looks like and their symmetry.

Science week is fast approaching! We will begin this next week by exploring a range of different sensory activities including soap slime, corn flour mixed with oil and feely baskets. Will you be brave enough to try it?

The children really enjoyed making soup and fruit salad this week. They are becoming very skilled at chopping their fruit and vegetables into small pieces. To develop this further we will do a fruit tasting session which will also link in with our Science Week where we will do a big focus on the five senses. Please can you send your child in with a piece of fruit on Wednesday.

Other sensory experiences will include exploring what is inside our feely boxes and using mirrors to look at shadows. This will lead us into our main Science week the week after.
