Please note that Term 1 ECAs and BISCAP have now finished.  The Term 2 programme will begin on Monday 9 January 2017.

  • Please ensure that your child has the correct school uniform. In particular please ensure your child is wearing black shoes. Girls should wear plain white socks and boys should wear black or grey socks. You can review the school’s uniform policy here.
  • If for any reason your child is unable to take part in PE, please send a signed message in your child’s communication book.  Your child still needs to bring in their PE kit to enable them to participate as a coach, an official or to give feedback.
  • Please be aware that the days are getting colder and wetter and dress your child accordingly.   A warm hat is also recommended, particularly on swimming days.
  • Week beginning 27th March is International Week and we will have the International Day Parade during this week. As many of you may be returning home for the Chirstmas vacation we would like to inform you of this upcoming event. This advance notice may give you an opportunity to prepare any clothes from your home country for this special event.

In literacy this week the children will be studying Christmas adverts. They will be given the opportunity to view and research the style these adverts are often written in and look at the persuasive and emotive language used. They will then be using this to design and make their own Christmas adverts that could be published in a variety of ways using multimedia and digital literacy.

Emotive language, persuasive vocabulary, adverts, Christmas

In Maths next week, we will be focusing on data handling and collecting information that can be presented in graphs and tally charts. The children will be applying their learning to different real life context such as Christmas to focus on topics that data handling can be used for. They will then learn how to present their data and analyse it using questions and coming up with different questions for others to answer.

Graphs, tally chart, tables, presentation, analyses, recording data, bar chart

The students will have a celebration of science and conduct experiments using a number of household items. The experiments include making objects float, using electricity in different ways and realising the power of vinegar.

Vroeger was alles ...

Year  3/ 4 French:  Miss Wood

Homework: To learn and practice the names of animals and find new vocabulary to add to the list.
