SDS Curriculum

In SDS, all Dutch-speaking pupils benefit from a bilingual education during school hours. Students follow the British curriculum in the English language in addition to a Dutch Language and Culture course.

SDS is accredited by the Dutch government and we are a member of The Foundation for Dutch Education Worldwide. The quality of our school is assessed by the Dutch inspection every four years and our teachers are qualified and ambitious professionals.

SDS offers a warm and safe (learning) environment for both students and parents. We focus on obtaining excellent Dutch language skills and developing the Dutch or Belgian identity. Our goal is to offer a high quality language and culture programme to make sure students are on the same level as their peers in The Netherlands of Belgium. We do this to assure an easy transition once students return to The Netherlands of Belgium. Our curriculum is based on the Dutch language standards as outlined but the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. Moreover, our groups are small so children receive a lot of individual help. In addition to regular in class assessments, we carry out annual language tests to monitor our students’ progress as thoroughly as possible.
