Anne Zimmer, Year 10

I have been at BISS Puxi for 3 years. I came to China 8 years ago and originally come from Germany. I have friends from all over the world and it’s great as you will get to understand the culture and traditions of other countries.

Every new student is given a ‘buddy’. This buddy is a fellow classmate who will help you find your classrooms for the first few weeks. Also at the start of the school year there is always an orientation day for new students where you will have the opportunity to meet teachers, look around school and meet other students. Seeing the school and knowing which form class you are in makes the first day a lot easier.

There are a lot of ECA choices for students. The sports ECAs are amazing, giving us opportunities to stay active and enjoy ourselves when playing with friends or playing tournaments and matches against other schools. For some tournaments such as ACAMIS or FOBISIA we even get to travel to different countries or to places all over China. I joined the Netball and Football ECA in Year 7 and still go to them regularly. There are also other non-sport ECAs such as the photography club, Model United Nations, Chinese cooking, the Art club and many others. ECAs are a fun way to improve or learn something new.

BISS Puxi is a great school that I am happy to be a part of. It’s a wonderful opportunity that will help you in present and future.  I hope to see you soon.
