Kirstie graduated with a BA (Hons) in Education from Leeds Trinity and All Saints University, UK, in 2009. She then worked for six years in a primary school in Leeds, teaching across all of the Key Stages and in Early Years. During these six years, Kirstie held the roles of Reception Year Leader and Religious Education Co-Ordinator in a Catholic primary school. After taking a year out of teaching to travel the world, Kirstie then decided to challenge herself again and moved overseas to teach.
Kirstie first moved to Shanghai in the August of 2016 to teach at NAIS Pudong. She then joined BISS Puxi to continue her teaching in Shanghai. She is a firm believer that there are no limits to what children can achieve and her classroom environment is full of encouragement and positivity.
Kirstie has always enjoyed taking part in different fitness and dance classes, such as Zumba and ballet. She believes it is very important for children to keep fit, be active and try new sports and activities. Since moving to Shanghai, Kirstie has had the opportunity to try new forms of exercise and has developed a passion for aerial fitness classes, such as practising the aerial hoop. She has even performed for her friends at The Pearl Theatre, which was an amazing opportunity.
