Timothy grew up on the outskirts of South-East London and after completing an undergraduate degree, he went travelling around Australia and South East Asia for a year. It was in Northern Thailand that he began teaching English as part of voluntary work for an NGO. He found the experience rewarding and gained his PCGE in Primary Education. He began his career at a school in England, where he was PE coordinator, responsible for overseeing the sports teams and implementing the new PE Curriculum.
After 3 years, the lure of travelling took him to teach in Qatar, where he gained a huge amount of experience working with children who often spoke English as a second language. Timothy then moved to Guangzhou when a not to be missed opportunity arose. This not only provided him with the opportunity for professional development within Nord Anglia Education, but also allowed him to immerse himself in the Chinese language, culture – and food!
He is excited about his move to Shanghai and joining BISS Puxi.
