Computing Science Teacher

Christopher graduated from the University of Guelph in Canada with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. He then went on to work in a variety of positions within the government and the private sector. In his last position with a Toronto bank, he was the lead project manager for a sales website where he learned to program for the first time. He moved to Christchurch College of Education in New Zealand to complete his Graduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning. While still in New Zealand, he taught at Whangarei Boys’ High School and Huanui College, a Cambridge-only school where he pioneered Computing Science and a successful robotics programme.

As well as bringing his work experience into the classroom, Christopher enjoys leading trips, video-recording, making movies and working with students in sport and school activities. His empathetic and creative approach leads students to learn about technology through many different learning styles. He is giving of his time and often gets involved in community projects.

Christopher has many sporting interests including swimming, biking and skiking, a cross between roller blading and cross country skiing. He is currently learning Mandarin, passed his HSK Level 1 last year and is fluent in French. His partner, Rosalind O’Shea, teaches Physical Education at the school and his daughter Ruby and son Charlie are in the Secondary and Primary schools respectively.
