Born in the North West of Spain, Emma has always loved languages and started her career learning English as a foreign language, and Spanish language and literature. As a student of Hispanic Studies, a gap year from the University of Salamanca took her to Birmingham in the UK, where she was fortunate enough to combine her passion for her mother tongue with a proper immersion in the English language and literature; experiencing the culture first hand. After finishing her degree, Emma completed her PGCE in Modern Languages in Gloucestershire and started her teaching career at Cheltenham Ladies’College , where she worked as a teacher of Spanish and Head of the Spanish Department. Emma is an IB examiner for Language B and has enjoyed taking part in publishing textbooks for students learning Spanish at all levels, both as an author and as an academic editor. In 2018, Emma decided to start a new adventure and moved to Singapore where she worked for three years until her move to BISS.
