Secondary Dutch Teacher
Iris has worked as a Dutch teacher for more than ten years. As well as her Bachelor’s degree, she also has a Master’s degree in Education. She has taught Dutch in The Netherlands and after eight years she made the life-changing decision to work overseas, looking for a new adventure. That is how Iris came to work here in Shanghai. For the last two years, she has worked with Dutch students across a number of schools in the city. Looking for a new challenge, and not yet ready to leave Shanghai, Iris is delighted to be working at BISS.
As a teacher, safety in the classroom is Iris’ first priority. She believes that when students feel safe, they learn well. Furthermore, being approachable is very important to Iris as a teacher. This means the students feel comfortable in the classroom and are open to learning and taking risks.
