A French-English bilingual programme to develop competence and confidence
Unlike many private schools in Switzerland, at Collège Champittet French is the primary teaching language, followed by English. In primary school, the French/English language split gradually progresses from 70/30 to 60/40. Secondary school students may choose between the anglophone International Baccalaureate, the francophone French Baccalaureate and the bilingual Swiss Maturité curriculum.
Our French as a Foreign Language (FLE) and English Additional Language (EAL) programmes help international students to develop the communication skills to thrive academically and socially, whatever their native language. In addition, German is introduced early on through games and becomes part of the official curriculum from age seven.
