Health & Wellbeing

Collège Champittet is committed to the physical and emotional wellbeing of all of our students.

By placing your child in our Swiss boarding school, you are entrusting us with their care, and we take this very seriously.

Our goal is for each student to graduate with health and wellness habits to lead a fulfilling, successful life. We believe that a nutritious diet, physical activity and positive social relationships are essential to a healthy lifestyle. Our school provides personalised health and wellness guidance to all of our students as well as round-the-clock support on campus.

Nutritious Meal Plans

Good health starts in the kitchen. At Collège Champittet, we employ an expert catering service, Eldora, that provides many healthy food options. If your child has any special dietary requirements, please discuss the details with us during the application stage. We will make every effort to cater to your child’s needs.

In addition to a nutrition-focused dining plan, we encourage students to establish healthy practices around food and eating. We incorporate cooking classes into the curriculum and organise themed meals that celebrate our multicultural student body.

Personalised Health and Wellness Programme

Collège Champittet has developed a health and wellness programme in partnership with the University of Lausanne/École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne Sport and Health Centre. This programme offers individually tailored support, including:

  • Annual check-ups

  • Personalised nutrition plans

  • Personalised sports/activity plans

  • Goal tracking

  • Access to health & wellness experts

  • Regular check-ins

We offer this programme to help students feel comfortable in their own bodies as they develop skills for a healthy lifestyle. For any other health concerns, a nurse is present on campus every day during the school week, while three boarding school staff members are trained to administer medicines and care for non-serious issues. Our school has close access to medical centres and hospitals with whom we have an excellent relationship, should more serious health issues require expert care. All students are covered by the school’s Swiss medical insurance.

Pastoral Care and Support on Campus

Boarding students at Collège Champittet can make an appointment to speak with our dedicated school counsellor on campus. All conversations with the counsellor are confidential, unless there is concern for the safety of the student or others.

Day or night, boarding students can also discuss any concerns they may have with our in-house Boarding House team, including the Heads of Boarding and the Graduate Assistants who are here to offer help, support and guidance.

A chaplain is also available on campus, and students are welcome to contact him. Our chaplaincy offers various activities, including Catechism courses, Masses and spiritual retreats. While these activities are aimed primarily at Catholic students, they are open to all students, no matter their religion.
