Mr Anthony Rowlands Weekly Update 16th October

16 October 2015

I have had a wonderfully productive time attending the Nord Anglia Education (NAE) SLT Conference in Switzerland. Having the opportunity to meet with colleagues from within the NAE group, and discuss many issues, has proven to be a most valuable experience.  There are many quality schools in the group and these are run by experienced and able people. It has been very beneficial to converse with them about range educational matters. Our school will gain a lot by being part of such a progressive group of schools.

Reports from BIS Hanoi suggest that it has been a very positive week and that the various Secondary School expeditions have been very successful. These are wonderful experiences for our students and I am grateful to all the staff who organised and accompanied the students on these trips.

I know that there have been trips in the Primary School which have also been a huge success.

The children in F3 visited the Museum of Ethnology

Year 4 tested their climbing skills at Viet Climb

Year 6 visited the Aquarium

.  What a very busy and exciting week it has been throughout the school!

I am pleased to announce that we have been accepted as members of the Federation of British International Schools in Asia (FOBISIA). We had our membership visit earlier in the term and the FOBISIA member schools voted “overwhelmingly” to accept us into the organisation. Once again, this will give our staff and students so many positive opportunities in the Asia region.

Next week is our Half Term break and I look forward to welcoming our students back to school on Monday, 26

October. I would like to wish you all a very happy holiday.

Mr Anthony Rowlands, Principal
