Mr Anthony Rowlands Weekly Update 11th September

11 September 2015

As the school community is now aware, we are a part of the Nord Anglia Education  (NAE) group of schools. NAE is a family of 41 international schools located in 15 countries across China, Europe, Middle East, North America and Southeast Asia. The schools educate over 32,000 students from pre-school to the end of secondary education. This is a really positive move for BIS Hanoi which will enhance our global standing as a school.  NAE is a truly global organisation and its “Global Campus” initiative will offer our students and staff many unique opportunities. One such example, the Juilliard - Nord Anglia Performing Arts Programme, will certainly, in the future, enhance the development of our own Performing Arts programme.

Last year, one of our current students spent a week at Julliard School in New York and was a member of the first ever

Julliard- NAE Global Orchestra

. These are wonderful experiences for our students and many others will be given various global opportunities in the future. Our staff will benefit from Nord Anglia University (NAU) as it will give them so many professional development opportunities and many of them are already experiencing the value of NAU.

September, we will receive a visit from Dr John Moore (Principal - British School Kathmandu) and Ms Ann McDonald (Principal – Kellett School Hong Kong). They will be representing the Federation of British Schools in South East Asia (FOBISIA). We have applied to become members of FOBISIA and the visit is related to our membership application. They will spend time visiting classrooms and meeting members of the school community.
