What an exciting week we’ve had here in the primary school. On Tuesday morning, I had quite a shock as certain characters approaching me down the corridor looked a little frightening and unfriendly to say the least! Luckily, Medusa, Poseidon, Robin Hood and Zeus turned out to be our very own Year 5 children who were taking part in a fun-filled learning experience at the start of their
Myths and Legends
I also had the pleasure of visiting the Year 4 classrooms to talk about my own personal adventures during treks to Everest Base Camp and Mount Kilimanjaro. These pale into insignificance when compared to the experiences of our special guest,
, who will visit us on
Tuesday 15th September
. Dr. Rebecca Lee is a 71-year-old Hong Kongese environmentalist, explorer, educator, and photographer. She is the first woman in the world and the first person from Hong Kong to have visited the poles: North Pole, South Pole, and Mount Everest. She has visited the Arctic ten times, Antarctica seven times, and Everest four times. Dr. Lee will help Year 4 to gain a further insight into exploration for their topic, ‘Adventurers and Explorers’.
Year 6 have also have a super entry point to their topic as they visited the Museum of Fine Arts on Thursday. You can find out further details in their report on

Meet the Teacher
It was lovely to meet so many Year 5 and 6 parents at our Meet the Teacher event on Tuesday. I hope parents found the information useful and feel more informed about the year ahead. Two more ‘Meet the Teacher’ sessions will be held next week:
- September 16th for Year 3 and Year 4 parents
- September 17th for Year 1 and Year 2 parents
Teachers will deliver a presentation about routines, proposed trips, homework and the curriculum. Following the presentation, there will be a chance for parents to introduce themselves to the class teacher and share information about how their child has settled.
