Mr Christopher Short Weekly Update 25th September

24 September 2015

It was great to see all the Ao Dais at the Moon Festival assembly this morning. It is my 4

Moon Festival and I always enjoy the opportunity to learn more about Vietnam and its traditions. We also had a very full assembly last Friday on a variety of topics. However, the theme through all of them was Integrity and Perseverance. We also launched a number of competitions that students will be involved with in the coming weeks.

We haven’t had a first for a while at BIS Hanoi but this week we held our first Graduation Committee meeting. The graduation will be on Saturday 11

June in the Hanoi Opera Hilton. Although there is a lot of hard work to happen between now and then, we look forward to celebrating our Year 13 students’ achievement before they leave us and go onto the World class universities they are currently applying to. More details will be available nearer the time.

We celebrated European Languages Day this week. We have been teaching various languages for the last two years as an ECA but Ms Rojas now teaches Spanish to Secondary students in each year group as part of our curriculum. This will expand next year as we alter our curriculum for Year 12 and 13.
