At BIS, we aim to making learning visible to our young learners. Children are given targets to help them understand what they need to do to improve and we promote reflection time for oral and written feedback. As well as academic goals, we believe that children should have certain characteristics to make them outstanding learners. Many of these characteristics are represented in our BIS Aide Memoire.
To make our Aide Memoire characteristics more visible and memorable for our learners, we are introducing our own BIS Superheroes. Each superhero will have special qualities, relevant to their characteristic, for example, we will have a super hero for reflection, one for integrity etc.
The children have designed superheroes and entered our BIS competition. The deadline has arrived and the judges are very impressed! Our team of teachers will now take the designs to our Graphic Design Team and the winning designs will be developed further. Who are the winners, I hear you say? Ah, you will have to wait one more week as the decision will be made public in next week’s assembly!
You should have received a letter this week from the Primary Office detailing our Shared Learning days: 29th and 30th March. This is a great opportunity for parents to come into school and listen to their child talk about their learning. Teachers will be on hand to chat with you and your child and to celebrate achievement. I hope to see many of you here for these sessions. If you have not received the email invitation then please contact Ms. Hung, in the Primary Office, for further details.
