What another wonderful week of achievements for British International School, Hanoi. Last Saturday, we experienced an outstanding Graduation Ceremony for our departing Y13 students at the Hilton Hanoi Opera. It was a stunning event which did justice to this wonderful group of students. We now wish them well with their forthcoming examination results and their future education at some of the world’s leading universities. Last weekend, we also received the news that we have been officially accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) . To go through this demanding process and gain accreditation is a great achievement by a school so young.
On Thursday, we all had the opportunity to see ‘Hercules’ which was presented by our Y4, Y5 and Y6 students. It was a spectacular performance which astounded the large audience in attendance which was made up of various members of the school’s community. Every student in Y4, Y5 and Y6 participated in this production and I am so proud of each one of them. Many congratulations to all our students and to all the staff involved, particularly the Performing Arts department - Ms Rea, Mr Scott, Ms Huyen and Mr Huy.
This morning, it was a pleasure to present Nguyen Do Anh Huy (Y12) with achievement certificates and medals for outstanding academic performances in Mathematics. As part of an early University application process, Huy had to undertake tests organised by the Faculty of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. These tests are taken by over 64,000 students each year and we were pleased to learn that Huy’s results had placed him in the top 25% of this incredible number of participating students. Many congratulations to Huy and best of luck with the remainder of his University application process. What great achievements by this outstanding school!
I do hope that you have a wonderful weekend.
Mr Anthony Rowlands, Principal
