Samsung Visit

Samsung welcomes the next generation from BIS Hanoi

Today, Year 10 Business, Computer Science and Economics students were lucky enough to visit Samsung Electronics Vietnam (SEV) just outside Hanoi.

The tour of this vast manufacturing plant was both insightful and thought-provoking, bringing our students' IGCSE content to life.

Samsung is a major employer in the city and accounted for 25% of Vietnamese exports in 2017. In modern manufacturing, a combination of labour, machinery and robots is commonplace and we were able to see this in action when we toured the live production line watching artificial robots carefully manoeuvring around, delivering components to assembly points.

Students were able to see first-hand how Samsung looks after and develops such a large workforce while keeping the manufacturing process at such a high level. Our students now take away these examples which will enhance their ability to make links with the real world in their future studies.
