As we come towards the end of the year there is always a mixture of emotions; excitement and sadness being some of them. Excitement, as we think about the next adventure and sadness, as we say good bye to people and people move on.
On Wednesday morning there was excitement in the corridors as our Primary students set off to meet their new teachers, in the next year group, as they continue their journey through Primary. ‘Move Up Morning’ was a great success and the children were buzzing, about their experiences and with anticipation of what the next year might bring. Our Year 6 students took walked across to the Secondary School for their ‘taster day’ which helps them prepare as they move into Year 7. This too, was a great day and I was greeted with big smiles and positive recounts of their experiences as they prepare for the next phase of their learning journey.
Today we said goodbye to Year 6 in our final Primary Assembly of the year and they were formally welcomed into the Secondary School by Mr. Webb. Along with some students who are moving on, we are also sad to say goodbye to some of our teachers who are leaving the Primary School. Some staff are returning to the UK and others are moving onto new challenges in different corners of the world. This year we say farewell to: Mr. Holmes, Phase 3 leader; Mr. Wild, Phase 2 leader, Ms. Long, Year 2; Ms. Natalie, Year 1; Ms. Caroline, Year 1; Mrs. Willson, EAL Leader; Mrs. Lovatt, EAL and Mr. Swanson EAL. I would like to thank them for the outstanding commitment, support and hard work they have given to our students, staff and school during their time. They will be missed, but I am sure you will join me in wishing them the very best for the future.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,
Ms Rebecca Carroll, Head of Primary
