On Wednesday, December 04, BIS Winter Concert was hosted in the festively decorated auditorium where talented students came together to dance, sing, act and play music that they have learnt from the Extra Curricular Performing Arts programme this term.

During the concert over 100 students took to the stage with musical ensembles joining forces with the dance and drama groups to put on an excellent show with a huge amount of variety.

The concert began with a lively number by the production orchestra from the show Elf followed by the Junior Choir singing the modern classic 'When Christmas Comes to Town' from the Polar Express film.

By this point the 500 parents, teachers, students and other guests in the audience were already well into the Christmas spirit and the 1 hour long show continued with the amazing Year 1 dancers performing to Santa Claus is Coming to Town which got a huge applause.  Dance is a big hit at BIS Hanoi, especially since the Juilliard Dance Curriculum came into the Primary school at the start of this school year. Several groups performed in the concert including students from year 1 all the way through to year 13 with Dance Company stealing the show with their version of White Winter Hymnal.

The audience were entertained with further music from the flute choir, junior orchestra, senior choir and brass band with a special performance from parents and staff in their beginner keyboard group performing Joy to the World.

The evening came to a close with a sneak preview of a scene from next week’s Secondary production of Elf when the cast and musical ensemble performed Sparklejollytwinklejingly.

A huge thank you and well done must be given to all of our students for their hard work this term and also to our Performing Arts teachers who have put in so much work to ensure the quality of performances was so high.

The production of Elf will be evenings of 11th and 12th December and tickets can be bought from the BIS Hanoi Receptionist or on the night with the price being just 30,000 VND.
