Dear Parents,

Regional Performing Arts Festival

BIS leads the way for collaboration in Performing Arts this week. On Tuesday, 8 schools joined BIS at the Melia Hotel for the opening of the inaugural Regional Nord Anglia Performing Arts Festival. The opening ceremony included a celebration of Vietnamese culture with an arousing performance from the BIS drummers, a beautiful Vietnamese choral ensemble and an enticing fan dance. The renowned BIS choir and a stunning violin and piano duet finished the ceremony and really set the scene for the week ahead.

The festival then moved to BIS Hanoi where the hard work started in earnest! A collaboration of 9 schools from Singapore, Manila, Pattaya, Bangkok, Cambodia, Yangon, Kuala Lumpur and our two schools from Hanoi provided an incredible pool of talent. Radu, our Juilliard conductor delivered expert tuition over 3 days and really brought all students together for the concert at the National Academy of Music which is due to happen at 7 pm on Friday evening. What a fabulous experience for the students of our Nord Anglia family!

Thank you to all students and teachers for making this event so successful. Ms Rea and Mr Scott from BIS Hanoi have worked incredibly hard to make this opportunity happen – congratulations!

IB Showcase 1 British International School Hanoi

IB Showcase

As our IB students in Year 13 come to the end of their time at BIS, it is only fitting to celebrate their hard work and achievements. Yesterday, I listened to truly creditworthy recollections of highlights and challenging moments encountered over the course of the two years of study. The quality of work produced was high and moreover, students were able to discuss opinions, extended essays and in-depth study projects with confidence. Our students are certainly global citizens who have taken action through CAS projects, have ambitious plans for life after BIS and are able to confidently communicate their aspirations for the future. IB is certainly a passport to the world!
