The Junior round of The Global Round of World Scholar's Cup (WSC) 2019 has recently taken place in Manila. A BIS Hanoi team of Bao Linh, Quynh Anh and Kim Ngan were incredibly successful at the competition and achieved qualification for the Tournament of Champions at Yale University in November 2019!

This year, we had a team of 3 students: Bao Linh, Quynh Anh and Kim Ngan who attended the WSC Global Round 2019 in Manila in mid-September. The idea behind the World Scholar’s Cup is to create something different from traditional academic competitions and conferences: a celebration of the joy of learning, an enrichment opportunity that motivated students not just to demonstrate their existing strengths but to discover new ones.

Among 1500 scholars this round from 30 countries, BIS Hanoi is proud to announce that our team achieved outstanding success with the following prizes:

Total medal: 22

Gold: 17

Silver: 5

1 Gold Team Cup in Debate Team

1 Gold Individual Cup in Debate Champion

5th Debate Team

37th Writing Team

49th Champion Team

In addition to the prizes listed above, Bao Linh personally achieved Top 10 in the Debate Champion category and she was chosen to present at the Debate Showcase. She was the only Vietnamese to be on stage with 7 other debaters from various countries and presented in front of over 1500 scholars, teachers and parents.

The team success meant that they have achieved qualification to The Tournament of Champions that will take place from 7 to 13 November 2019 at Yale University, USA. This will be a special opportunity for our students to interact with and learn directly from Yale students and faculty. Moreover, the students can also learn how to leverage their World Scholar’s Cup experience as part of their university admissions portfolio as well as come away knowing what it is like to be a student at one of the world’s greatest universities – Yale University.

At BIS Hanoi, we enable our students to become Confident Communicators. With their hard work and dedication, Bao Linh, Quynh Anh and Kim Ngan have certainly proved that through their significant achievements in Manila and we look forward to updating you on their performance in November on their return from Yale University.
