BIS Hanoi visited to Hy Vong School

This week students from Year 6, teachers and parents visited Hy Vong (Hope) School for disabled children.

During term 1, Hy Vong students visited BIS weekly, to work alongside our students on an art project and they invited us to see their canvases displayed on the walls of their multipurpose hall.

Ms. Huong, the head teacher of Hy Vong, said all the teachers were very happy with the results and the canvases were even more impressive than they had expected. The children were very proud and keen to show us their paintings; it certainly brightens up the room.

The students of Hy Vong then performed 2 dance routines. The first was by the older girls who are hearing impaired and have been practicing for over 2 months. The performances was fantastic and even more impressive considering that they cannot hear the music. The second performance was a lively fun dance by the Year 1 children to the birdy song, which had everyone clapping along.

Parents from our Korean community then presented Hy Vong School with a laptop; this was purchased from the funds raised by our fabulous BIS parents at our International Fair. We then went on a tour of the school, whilst the children played fun games, led by our students.

We look forward to seeing the teachers and children of Hy Vong at our Tet Assembly on the last day of term; inviting them to perform one of their dance routines as one of the many acts put together by our wonderful Vietnamese teachers to celebrate the end of term, and the start of the Tet holiday.
