BIS Hanoi celebrates a joyful and vibrant Tet assembly

BIS Hanoi welcomed the Lunar New Year with a vibrant whole school Tết Assembly, bringing together students, staff, and teachers dressed beautifully in traditional áo dài. Families were warmly invited to join the celebration, creating a festive atmosphere filled with colour, culture, and community spirit.

The assembly opened with an energising performance of “Trống hội mùa xuân” by Year 9 and Year 12 students. The powerful drum rhythms set an exciting tone and symbolised the arrival of spring. Following this, students from Years 2 and 3 charmed the audience with “Vè Chúc Tết,” sharing cheerful New Year wishes through a traditional rhyme.

Adding to the cultural richness of the event, BIS Hanoi parents took the stage with a heartfelt Vietnamese Tết song, demonstrating the strong partnership between families and the school. Students from Years 4, 5, and 6 continued the celebration with two joyful and energetic performances titled “Vạn sự Như Ý” and “Chào Năm Mới.”

Parents returned with a stunning presentation of “Tây Bắc Sắc Họa,” showcasing the cultural beauty of Vietnam’s Northwest region. This was followed by a meaningful calligraphy performance, also known as Thư pháp, by students from Years 10 and 12, highlighting the artistry and symbolism embedded in Vietnamese New Year traditions.

A lively and modern performance titled “Bắc Bling” by KS3 and KS5 students added a contemporary twist to the programme, blending creativity with cultural pride.

To conclude the celebration, the entire school gathered to enjoy a spectacular lion and dragon dance, one of the most beloved symbols of Tết. The colourful costumes, rhythmic drumming, and dynamic movements brought excitement and good fortune to the whole community.

The BIS Hanoi Tết Assembly was a wonderful celebration of culture, unity, and shared joy. It marked a festive and memorable start to the Lunar New Year. Chúc Mừng Năm Mới!
