Central Vietnam Flood Relief Appeal On Friday 30th October, your child will have the privilege of wearing a Halloween outfit on the day in return for a charitable donation. We have already suggested 30,000 VND as a donation but any further donations are much needed and would be much appreciated by those affected.

Dear Parents,

As you know, the central region of Vietnam has been besieged by flooding at a level not seen in generations. There have been more than a hundred deaths and countless missing people. This disaster has happened at a time when many lives have been compromised by the financial implications of COVID-19. People who live on the margins cannot weather a storm like this without help. Crops and livestock have been destroyed and lost and nearly 200,000 homes submerged by flood waters.   Hundreds of thousands of people in Vietnam are in need of urgent shelter, safe drinking water and food to prevent a larger humanitarian crisis.

On Friday 30th October we will be inviting students into school wearing Halloween fancy dress. Ordinarily, on similar non-uniform days, we encourage the students to make a charitable contribution the proceeds of which the school directs to a local charity. On this occasion, in agreement with the Student Council, we will be supporting Blue Dragon with their work with flood victims in the Central Vietnam.

Your child will have the privilege of wearing a Halloween outfit on the day in return for a charitable donation. We will ensure the funds are distributed to Blue Dragon to support their work on the ground. We have already suggested 30,000 VND as a donation but any further donations are much needed and would be much appreciated by those affected.

Regards,
