One of the things that sets BIS apart from other schools in Hanoi, is our commitment to developing students as rounded individuals, as well as focusing on academic achievement. Your appreciation of this came over very clearly in the recent parent satisfaction survey, where many of you mentioned the strength of our provision to help students to develop in terms of personal and social development, creativity and science and technology.
We are very proud of the collaborations which Nord Anglia Education has with world class institutions such as Juilliard and MIT. Our students benefit from these directly, in the impressive range of projects and activities which they are invited to participate in. They also benefit indirectly, through the training and support given to our teachers.
This week, eight of our students in Years 7 to 9 took part in an Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) STEAM Festival, which you can read about in the newsletter. I went to see how they were getting on and was quite overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and excitement as students planned, discussed, and collaborated on the project. These are the kind of experiences which students will remember, and may potentially impact on their later career and life choices.
