This time of year again finds our Year 12 students busier than ever with their CAS projects. Many interesting initiatives have been launched and are looking very promising.

BIS Hanoi has been offering the IB Diploma Program (IBDP) to students aged 16-19 since 2016, and we have seen a wide range of excellent CAS projects organised by our IB students. From creating a meaningful documentary to support the visually impaired to teaching younger children about the significance of Global Goals, all of their projects have successfully brought positive impact to the local community. In turn, the students gained valuable experiences, created the fondest memories with their peers, and developed several crucial skills for their future careers.

This year is no exception as all of Year 12 students have been planning, preparing, and carrying out some fantastic projects. Many of our groups are raising money, awareness, or collecting donations for some of our wonderful community partnerships, such as with the Blue Dragon Foundation, Blossom House, and Bo De Orphanage. These are all incredible endeavors that we believe will yield huge results and create meaningful influence on the community.

Year 12s have created posters which give all the details of how you can get involved and encourage them, we hope you will look through and support our outstanding students. We are so proud of you, Year 12s!

What is CAS project?

CAS stands for Creativity, Activity and Service and is one of the three essential components of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. It is mandatory for IB students to complete their own CAS group project in order to earn the diploma.

CAS requires students to participate in a variety of activities outside of their academic studies. It pushes students to take on new challenges and work cooperatively to overcome obstacles. CAS allows students to practise the skills they will need to excel in their future pathways at university and beyond. By getting hands-on experience while carrying out their projects, students will improve their personal development while also becoming more culturally aware and developing respect for others.
