The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) offers children aged from 2 to 4 an outstanding environment in which to begin their learning career. At our Hanoi kindergarten, we provide Pre-Nursery (F1), Nursery (F2) and Reception (F3) education of the highest quality.
The British International School Hanoi offers a child-centered, play-based preschool curriculum that uses teaching and learning materials from the British Early Years Foundation Stage Framework. The main emphasis is on providing a secure and nurturing environment which allows all children to develop at their own pace.
Learning at our Early Years Foundation Stage
The Early Years Foundation Stage includes seven areas of learning. These include three prime areas:
- Communication and language
- Physical development
- Personal, social and emotional development
The prime areas will help them to develop skills in the following four specific areas:
- Understanding the world
- Expressive arts and design
Children have the opportunity to work towards Early Learning Goals in the seven areas of learning whilst being closely supported and challenged along the way. Readiness and flexibility are therefore key considerations in the planning of effective and differentiated teaching strategies.
Our international school has many experienced, qualified teachers and assistants who will support your child through structured play experiences that offer open-ended learning and opportunities for child-initiated projects. There is a strong emphasis on social and emotional development as a means by which children develop qualities and skills such as self-confidence, independence and problem solving.
World-class preschool facilities
EYFS classrooms are well-equipped and resourced to meet the specific needs of our youngest children. Each classroom base is a self-contained unit, providing children with a safe, comfortable and secure environment. In addition to this, shared Early Learning Centres are equipped with a wealth of additional facilities and resources which provide opportunities for children to extend their learning and explore a wider range of experiences. A selection of outdoor facilities include climbing apparatus, a sand pit, a splash pool and large open and covered play areas.
