Rachael studied Music and Dance from an early age and went on to study flute at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and Huddersfield University. During her studies, she spent her summers teaching Music and Dance at ELDC in Vienna, Austria and after university completed her PGCE in Music Education at Manchester Metropolitan University.
Beginning her teaching career in Glossop Derbyshire her school choirs competed regularly in local and national competitions. She later went on to spend 4 years as Head of Music at a large boys comprehensive on the outskirts of Manchester where she established choirs, a jazz band and a brass band that all performed regularly in school and the local community.
Rachael began her international career at the British International School of Bratislava where she began as Head of Whole School Music and later became Head of Visual and Performing Arts. She was also Regional Lead for Music for Europe and later became Regional Lead for Performing Arts across Europe and the Middle East.
During her time in Bratislava Rachael established The Bratislava Big Sing, a yearly choral event for primary children with students coming from across Europe. She also produced the Nord Anglia Virtual Choir bringing all the Nord Anglia schools across the world together in one piece of music.
Rachael likes undertaking huge musical projects and getting everyone in the community involved.
