Thank you to all of our parents and students for their wonderful wishes and gifts of fruit, flowers and cakes to celebrate Teachers’ Day. We were absolutely overwhelmed by the good wishes we received from you all and everyone on the staff was very grateful. It makes us feel very special and makes us all want to do even more for our wonderful students.
This week has been really special in many ways.
On Tuesday night, we had our annual IGCSE Certificate Presentation Evening, held, once again, at the UK Ambassador’s residence. It was so lovely to be able to celebrate the achievements of last year’s Year 11 with their parents and teachers. To help the evening along we had three terrific musical performances from Year 10 and 11 students, including a song performed by My Anh from our upcoming musical production “Little Shop of Horrors.”
We were honoured to hear His Excellency Mr Gareth Ward, the UK Ambassador, speak about how he considers himself to be a lifelong learner himself, and how IGCSE and A Levels prepared him for not only university, but gave him skills that he has used in his life since.
We were also able to announce three very special awards that Cambridge Examinations bestowed on our students. Cong Phu achieved the highest mark in Vietnam for Computer Science, Quang Tien the highest mark for Music and Lee Hanol for the highest mark in Vietnam for AS Psychology. Congratulations to these students, and once again to all who took their IGCSE exams last summer.
On Wednesday, we welcomed our Year 11 parents for the A Level information evening. Choosing the right A Level subjects is so very important and so we put this evening on each year to help students and parents make the right, informed choice. Thank you to all who attended this and to all the teachers who gave up their time to discuss their subjects with the students.
Next week, we are putting on the same event for our Year 9 parents as they help their children choose their IGCSE subjects and I look forward to welcoming those parents at 4.00pm next Wednesday.
I hope you all have a great weekend.
